Pretty & Pink

Personal Project: For year’s pink has symbolized an in-the-box definition of what it is to be a woman. Little girls are dressed up in pink skirts, and told that their bedrooms should be shades of coral, and entirely floral, to suit the ideals of the princesses that they are. But many women today don’t conform to that stereotype. Being a woman doesn’t mean having to be demure, having long, lush hair and wearing the brightest of pink attire. It means having the freedom to choose who they are, whether that be embracing their girlish selves, or being as edgy and androgynous as they decide to be.

Pink is just a color. It can represent love, kindness and any version of a woman. If we remember that, we can begin to look at the world through our rose-colored glasses.
